Around the 1800s, the culture of Japonism was born overseas.
This coincided with the period when Japan stopped its isolation and began trading with foreign countries.
Europeans, who had originally been exposed to Chinese culture, quickly accepted Japanese art and incorporated it into their daily lives.
The period was medieval France. Monet, the world-famous capital of art, used ukiyoe as wrapping paper for his art works.
He was so impressed by the wrapping paper that he transformed it into art.
There is a fine line between art and mere wrapping paper.
I wonder if there might be some eggs that could become art lying here and there in our surroundings.
The important point is awareness.
I digress today.
